France’s kid chess champion still has no French citizenship

It’s unbelievable that a country would withhold citizenship from its national #chess champion.

Fahim Mohammed’s win of the French chess championship two years ago was a little sensation. Not only was Fahim only 11 years old, he also had a very perilous past. After he had fled Bangladesh with his father who was perseceuted for his political activities, leaving his mother and siblings behind, the duo ended up as undocumented immigrants in Paris in the late summer of 2008.
